As a breed specific organization, the FSHN's work and objectives are funded solely by people--like you--with private donations. At this time, our operating expenses are minimal and have been handled by private donations. In order to move forward with testing, however, we will need to fund our treasury. Our initial fundraising goal for 2008 is $5,000 to be used for testing and necropsies where the deceased dog has died from a disease that is of interest to the future of the breed. Your tax deductible donations allow us to continue our efforts to identify and move towards eliminating genetic diseases and defects that affect our best friends through research, education, maintenance of the dabatase and educational presentations. Your contributions will make a difference! Making a positive choice to invest in the Finnish Spitz Health Network is truly an investment in our breed, and its future.

There are many ways to give.......

We have three fundraising projects in the works with additional ideas percolating! Check back often to see what new ideas have taken flight.

50-50 RAFFLE

FSHN will be holding a 50-50 raffle at the breed supported entry in Billings, MT in June. The drawing will be held at noon on Wednesday, June 18, 2008. You do NOT need to be present to win! Raffle tickets will be sold for $1.00 for one ticket, $5.00 for ten tickets or a "stretch" for $20.00. If you would like to help by purchasing raffle tickets but will not be in Billings, please contact Sheila Brown via email to purchase tickets.

BARBECUE

For your evening activites in Billings in June FSHN will host a barbecue following the supported entry and Best In Show judging on Tuesday June 17th. All you can eat for a mere $10 contribution! Don't miss out on this wonderful dinner and benefit FSHN at the same time.

CASH FOR TRASH RECYCLING

We are working with an organization that pays for used cell phones and empty ink jet cartridges for recycling. This is an easy way to help us fund projects without any money from your pocket. Simply collect empty ink jet cartridges and old cell phones (we do not need the chargers or accessories but they must be in working order) and we will send them on for payment! If you have some extra time, stop in at your local cell phone stores. Often they are more than willing to give you their old cell phones for a good cause. Contact Sheila Brown by phone at 406-698-4663 or via email for further information.

Donations

Honorariums/Memorials
Give a gift in memory or honor of the Red Dog you love, or make a gift in honor of a special occasion such as his or her birthday or first arrival in your home. There's no better way to honor or memorialize a best friend that gives so much in return than by reaching out a hand to ensure that our dogs remain healthy for the future. Please visit our Honorarium page to see dogs who have been honored or memorialized through a donation to FSHN.

Take advantage of corporate matching
Your gift to FSHN can do double duty. Check with your company's human resources department to see if your company matches gifts to non-profit organizations.

Remember FSHN in your last will
One of the most generous gestures individuals can make is leaving a bequest to a non-profit organization. By designating a percentage of your will, a specific dollar amount or a residue gift, you leave a legacy that ensures that our future generations of Finnish Spitz will receive the the health benefits our vision ensures.

Funds, Annuities, and Named Endowments
A Family to Family Fund, Charitable Gift Annuity or Named Endowment are ways to help future generations while taking advantage of unique tax advantages.

Other giving opportunities
Corporate and private funded sponsorships are also ways to help our dogs, as well as donated properties and goods.

Our Multi-Level Donation Programs
We accept any level of donations. We also have structured programs for your contributions. A donation of any amount is the first step toward benefiting the future health of the breed. With convenient donation programs, you can:

  • Make a monthly donation
  • Make a yearly donation
  • Make a one time gift
  • Make a corporate donation or grant
  • Make a major financial or stock contribution
